Tommy Aquino joined the AMA mid season when he turned 16. Despite missing the first 4 races of 2008 he still managed to finish 14th in the Supersport Championship, no small feat given the depth of talent on that grid. His string of 5 top ten finishes also landed him the AMA Rookie of the Year award.
